Guy Touvron

An artist in full maturity, rewarded by three International Grand Prize (München, Geneva and Prague), he started very early a brilliant career, now at its height with more than 3’500 concerts. He played with prestigious orchestras : the English Chamber Orchestra, the Mozarteum of Salzburg, the Scala of Milan, the Strings Festival of Lucerne, the Chamber Orchestra of Prague, the Symphonia Varsovia, the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris as well as with many symphonic formations : National Orchestra of Lyon, Toulouse, Lille, of Lorraine, of the Republican Guard in Paris, the Philharmonic of Dresden, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and in the greatest concert venues : the Berliner Philharmonie, the Scala of Milan, the Royal Albert Hall of London or the Konzertwerein of Vienna.

He played under the direction of conductor such as Menuhin, Serge Baudo, Sylvain Cambrelang, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Emmanuel Krivine, Michel Plasson, Claudio Scimone, etc…

He can be seen in many festival in France and Abroad : Salzburg, Pollença, Lanaudière, Stresa, Montreux, Jerusalem, La Chaise Dieu, and he frequently plays in the US, in Japan, in China, and in other european countries.

He plays as well in the baroque repertoire as in chamber music or contemporary creations. More than 25 pieces were written for him by present-day composers : Karol Beffa, Charles Chaynes, Graciane Finzi, Antony Girard, Jacques Loussier, Alain Margoni, François Rauber …

He recorded more than 75 discs (EMI, BMG, Philips, Ligia Digital, Erato) and he is a teacher with a will to give his experience to young artists in numerous Master-Class and Academies : Julliard School of New-York, Tokyo, Nice, Biella…

He is currently teaching at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris (CNR) and the Schola Cantorum. He published the biography of Maurice André : Maurice André, une trompette pour la renommée, aux éditions du Rocher.
